What is unclaimed property?

Unclaimed property is money or other property held by a Definity company, including Petline  Insurance Company, which may include premium refunds, claim payments, or other payments related to insurance contracts or services.

How do I claim unclaimed property held by Petline Insurance?

If you have received a letter from Petline Insurance Company indicating that we are holding unclaimed property on your behalf or if you have reason to believe we may be holding such property, you may initiate a search by contacting us. Please allow 4-6 weeks for a coordinator to contact you.

1. To initiate a search, please provide the following details:
   • First & last name, or name of business
   • Relationship to owner of unclaimed property, if you are not the owner
   • Current mailing address & contact details, including phone number and email
   • Policy # and/or Claim #, if known
   • Description of the type of unclaimed property, type of insurance policy to which it relates, and associated Petline company
   • Unclaimed property amount, if known
   • A copy of any correspondence received regarding the property
2.  To protect an individual’s privacy, authentication of your identity will be required to confirm that you have the right to the information and property requested. Petline must be satisfied that it has sufficient proof of a claimant’s identity and entitlement to the property before releasing the property. To verify your identity, we request:
   • Two (2) pieces of identification, one of which must be a government-issued photo ID. This documentation must confirm your name, signature, and date of birth.
3. In addition, if you are acting in a representative capacity, you will be asked to provide a copy of the document which provides you with the authority to make the request. For example, a Power of Attorney or proof that you are the executor of the property owner’s estate.
